Membership with HOME

We invite you to become a member of HOME. , you have journeyed with us for some time now and we would love to recognise your part and place in this church in an upcoming service — officially giving you the title of 'member of HOME'.

You may ask: why such a formal invitation? What is different about being a member as opposed to your current position? Here are some reasons that may help clarify.

• It empowers the current members to express their personal commitment towards you as your sister/brother in Christ. As much as the title of member displays your desire to belong, it in turn obligates the members to commit to you and your well-being — to be conformed to the image of Christ.
• It empowers Sumi and James as pastors to minister to you. When you declare your desire to be part of our spiritual family, you are in turn permitting and inviting us to be your counsel and support — without such we would otherwise feel intrusive and would refrain from such actions.
• With membership into a spiritual family there are entitlements; these include, but are not limited to, pastoral care, voting rights for major decisions, and opportunities to represent HOME in our official ministries and missions.

Membership with HOME also means you are aligned with the beliefs of HOME and how we live out these beliefs. That you are:

• Baptised. You have been baptised and, based on the sermons you have heard on Sundays, you share the same core beliefs.
• Committed to building the body of Christ with HOME — to love the members of HOME with your unique set of experiences, gifts, talents, finances and resources.
• Partnering with HOME to bless our neighbours — to love those outside of HOME as an agent and representative of Jesus and of HOME.
